It all started 25 years ago when on a whim I decided to begin woodworking with my family and instantly fell in love!
Over time, I made it my own, doing everything I can to keep my little shop alive. I’m deeply passionate about continuing this art form and creative staple here in Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Why bears?
The bear simply comes from the very real brown bears that live in our mountains and occasionally see sniffing around our backyard!
Why aliens?
The carved aliens started here with us but are in homage to the famous Roswell, NM aliens, just an hour drive East, where you might see the real thing...
Everything else comes from nature and simply our imagination.
From creating "cartoony" characters fishing, skiing, playing golf or sporting their favorite football jersey—the options are endless!
I do custom hand-crafted pieces,
no two are ever quite the same. Contact me to start a design that will spark a smile, tell a story, or capture a memory!
- Agueda (you can call me Aggie)
Once you bringing one of my handcrafted pieces into your home I want it to bring you joy for years to come!
Fresh wood makes the carving process smoother, so for the first year, keep your carving in the shade or indoors so it can dry slowly. Whether displayed inside or out, we recommend to brush on 3-5 coats or spray on ~10 of Outdoor Marine Varnish or Outdoor Spar Urethane (not sponsored).
If your piece stays outdoors, re-apply varnish once a year or whenever it needs a fresh coat.
Wood is a natural material, and small cracks may form as it dries and settles. This is completely normal and only adds charm and character. If you want to repair them, fill the crack with exterior wood putty or Liquid Nails, touch up with matching paint, and re-apply varnish to seal it.
If you find yourself in the area, we’d love to give your bear a free touch-up! (Restrictions may apply.)
**Due to recent flooding we are working hard in cleaning up the damage. Therefore, our response may be delayed**
But we stay in communication with our customers until the job is done. To get a free quote, or if you have questions, give me a call/message.
We’re slowly adding our inventory for online shopping, so please bear with us — and thank you for your patience!
